The wines of Vinos Valtuille come from a really special place, considered one of the most renowned viticultural villages in all of Spain – Valtuille de Abajo. With just 85 inhabitants, really old vines outnumber the people who tend them by… a lot. It is a point of immense pride for the people of Valtuille that not a single kilo of grapes harvested in the village are sold to a cooperative.

The García family has been tending vineyards for at least 300 years (probably for quite a bit longer, but the oldest surviving documents only date back to the early 18th century). Elena and Marcos now steward this storied land, farming 16 hectares of vines spread over 110 distinct parcels. Apart from a couple of small parcels of Godello planted in the 1990s, all plantings pre-date the Spanish Civil War, while some sites were planted as far back as the 1890s.
