Ribeiro, Galicia – Vina Mein appears in the Galicia history books as one of the first population settlements of Galicia, under the protection of the San Clodio monastery. That is to say, it was right there, in Vina Mein and San Clodio, where Ribeiro wine was born. In 1988, Javier Alen started making a high-quality, traditional Galician white wine. He was enthusiastic about going back to the origins of Ribeiro, using the native Galician vine varieties that had given the area wines so much fame in the 16th century. Today, Vina Mein owns 16 hectares of vineyards placed in the best slopes of the Valle del Avia planted with the local Treixadura, Godello, Loureira, Torrontes, Albarino, Lado, and Albilla grapes.
