The Malidain domaine, currently run by fourth generation Romain Malidain, is located in the village of “Demi-Boeuf” in the Val de Loire, 25 kilometers south of Nantes. It is situated in the extreme west of the Loire Valley wine area. In 1954, Romain’s grandfather Marcel had 5 hectares of vines and some cows. In 1974, when Romain’s father Michel joined the Domaine, he decided to concentrate just on vines. Today, the Domaine has 46 hectares of vines. Romain joined the Domaine in 2006, after his viticultural studies and experience both in France and abroad, notably in New Zealand.
