Jim Maresh, from Arterberry Maresh, began his commitment to making benchmark Oregon Chardonnay with the harvest from a very special plot of vines his mother planted on the family farm in 1983 while she was pregnant with him. To say his relationship with the vines is a personal one would be a dramatic understatement, and his passion for this grape in Oregon terroir is always evident upon the first sip of any of his impeccable Chardonnays. With Tan Fruit the journey seeks new ground to explore and realize the incredible potential of an iconic variety from more of the most exceptional vineyard sites in Willamette Valley, proving that Chardonnay from this place is worthy of focused attention and acclaim it has not previously received.
