Radford Dale was founded in 1998 by winemakers Ben Radford and Alex Dale. By developing strong relationships with growers in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa, Ben and Alex are able to get their hands on quality, sustainably farmed grapes including some of the only Gamay grown in the Cape. Despite being a modern winery purchasing fruit, the mission remains the same – to preserve the sense of terroir by working with as little intervention as possible. No disease fighting chemicals or pesticides are used in the vineyards promoting a thriving, living eco-system nurturing the health of the vines. In the cellar they intervene as minimally as possible and limit any additions including sulfur. The resulting wines showcase beautifully what innovation and a healthy respect for tradition can achieve.
