La Viña del Bululú comes from the region of Alto Alberche, a small area in the province of Avila, north of Madrid. This is a mountainous area (Sierra de Gredos) with granitic soils, pine trees, Holm oaks and an island of small vineyards at approximately 1000m. above sea level. Here the de Andres sisters craft this singular expression of high altitude Garnacha (organic farming). Bululu was an actor and a flirt playing in the old Baroque theater troupes called “Garnacha.” The Bululu would travel from town to town, collecting coins to fill the night’s with charades and comedies.
