Tim Fulnecky came to winemaking on accident. He started as a harvest hand after college because he was looking to pick up some extra cash. Then he stayed on to help in the tasting room. And when Andrew Jones needed a hand in the cellar to do the heavy lifting, there was Tim, willing and eager to lend one. Winemaking started by accident for Tim, but he is a natural. Hollyhock Lodge is the culmination of a childhood spent at his family home with his grandmother sharing food, stories and wine and his experience working throughout the Central Coast beside Andrew making the Field Recording wines. Add to that, his discovery of soul changing Beaujolais, like the wines of Yann Bertrand, and you have a recipe for amazing, crunchy gamay from Portico Hills vineyard in Santa Barbara County. Tim’s wines are not be missed by the curious wine enthusiast or the serious Beaujolais-o-phile.
