Established in the Setubal region of Portugal, located due south of Lisbon in the Sado Estuary. Alongside the vineyards are Cork and Pine trees, as well as livestock, all part of the forest/pastoral system. Great care is taken in management of the property since it is classified as Natura 2000 (a special protection area). The winemaker, Nuno Cancela de Abreu, produces a white and red wine at this Quinta. The label for these wines has a beautiful picture of a crane done in a mosaic, which honors the surrounding wildlife and demonstrates how vineyards can preserve the land in its natural state for generations.
