At Azienda Agricola Foradori, a fourth generation of vignerons are working to grow plants that maintain their natural expressivity. Located in Mezzolombardo (Trento) in the heart of Campo Rotaliano surrounded by the Dolomites, the estate was built in 1901 and has been carried on by the Foradori family since 1939.
It was Elisabetta Foradori and Rainer Zierock’s work that led to the conservation and regeneration of the Teroldego grape genetics through the cultivation of the grape’s original genotypes.
Stylistic shifts, already in motion when Elisabetta was still in the cellar, have become clearly defined over the last decade (thanks to her three children) including the transformation of the winery into a full-fledged polycultural farm. There have been further experiments with amphora as well, including the very limited “Cilindrica” bottlings, aged an extra year in a smaller, cylindrical amphorae.
“As guardians of the land we believe our work is measured with time, with nature’s rhythms, with the anticipation for the plants to grow, to age, to give fruit, for the wine’s slow evolution in the silence and darkness of the winery”.
