The Grignan-Les Adhemar AOC (previously Coteaux de Tricastin) is the northernmost wine-growing AOC in the southern area of the Rhone wine region of France. The Domaine in its current form was created in 1994 by the youthful and intense Jerome Roux, following in the footsteps of two preceding generations of winemakers. Since 2008 the Rouxs have emphasized their commitment to their soil and the creation of the most pure wines by becoming organic. Their organic flagship wine – The Secret de Syrah, is 100% Syrah from 30 year old vines, planted on stony argilo/limestone soil in a hilly area where the cooler nights allow the development of less alcoholic, fresher wines . This cuvee is a regular recipient of Gold medals up and down France. Its intensity and complexity is unlikely to be matched in other Syrah based wines at this price level!
