The Domaine of Bertrand Machard de Gramont of Nuits Saint Georges can trace it roots back through the venerable Negociant firm of Dufouleur to 1830 (via Bertrand’s Grandfather) in the town of Nuits Saint Georges. Bertrand worked in the family Domaine of De Gramont with his two brothers until 1986, when he created the current Domaine in his own name. The Domaine is very small, even by Burgundian standards, with a total surface (mainly of Nuits Saint Georges Appellation and a little Bourgogne rouge) of some 6 hectares or approx 15 acres.
