Château Lestage-Darquier Grand Poujeaux, now under the leadership of the Cordonnier family, is located on one of the finest terroirs in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation of Bordeaux. Acquired by the Cordonniers in 2022, this estate marks a new chapter in the family’s winemaking journey. Jean-Baptiste Cordonnier and his son Théophile, known for their expertise in organic farming and agroforestry at their nearby property, Château Anthonic, have revitalized Lestage-Darquier with a commitment to sustainability and precision.
Focusing on just 3.5 hectares of prestigious vines on the Grand Poujeaux plateau, the estate produces wines that are a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, grown on Garonne gravel and limestone soils. These unique soils give the wines length, elegance, and fine tannins, positioning them closer in style to the neighboring Saint-Julien and Pauillac appellations.
The Cordonniers employ a meticulous double selection process, ensuring only the finest grapes are used in crafting their signature wines. The result is a wine of exceptional quality, poised to make Château Lestage-Darquier a leading name in the region.
With a focus on organic viticulture, sustainability, and innovation, the estate is well-positioned to become one of the standout properties in Moulis-en-Médoc.
