Margaret River – Western Australia – Ashbrook Estate’s philosophy is to use minimal intervention in the manufacture of their wines (“keep it simple!”). They are one of the few estate Margaret River wineries. All grape picking and vine pruning is done by hand. The vineyard comprises seventeen hectares and was established by the Devitt family in 1975, producing its first commercial wine in 1979. Founding winemaker Tony Devitt and his niece Catherine Devitt, current winemaker, believe the potential of their wine is determined in the vineyard, so they direct their resources to this area. Their winemaking aims to protect the characteristics of the grapes and ensure that the wine is balanced and delicious.
