Ann and John Martini started off as grape growers in the mid ‘70s in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The regional market for wine grapes shifted dramatically in the ‘80s, forcing a decision to look at other avenues to continue making a living- which led to the first crush for Anthony Road in 1989. Since then, a new generation has taken over operations at the family winery. Peter Martini now tends 90 acres of grapevines, working to promote a healthy ecosystem for vine growth and quality fruit development. Here, certified sustainable estate-grown fruit is gently guided through fermentation with native yeasts, reflecting the individual site’s soil and climate in each and every vintage. A true family affair, Ann + John’s four children (and their spouses) are integral parties of the day-to-day business, while twelve grandchildren help (or hinder) whenever they can… The wines of Anthony Road express a true labor of love and fruits of a loving multi-generational home.
