A historic family-run estate located in Loazzolo, in the Asti hills of Piedmont. Origins date back to 1850 when Giovanni Galliano purchased the first vineyards that would become the foundation of the winery. In the 1980s Borgo Maragliano pioneered planting Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the area, to craft Metodo Classico (Champenoise Method) sparkling wines – a bold innovation at the time and now one of the winery’s signatures with Alta Langa DOCG wines.
Vineyards sit at about 450 meters above sea level, on a natural terrace shaped by sandy, calcareous soils and a unique microclimate influenced by sea breezes known as “Marin”. These conditions produce wines noted for freshness, finesse, and minerality.
