Uriondo is a small family winery founded in 1987, located near the port city of Bilbao. The small vineyard (2.5 hectares) is situated at an altitude of 175 meters with a southeasterly exposure. This vineyard, heavily influenced by the Atlantic climate, is predominantly clay/sand mixture allowing for a good retention of nutrients. The vineyard is comprised of the local grape Hondarribi Zurri, Mune Mahatsa and Txori Mahatsa. With the exception of the Txori Mahatsa, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks. The Txori Mahatsa is barrel fermented separately in American oak.
